Jennifer joined the City of Lakeland, in August 2012, and serves as both Public Relations Specialist
and Website Administrator.
Some of her responsibilities include planning, developing, and managing citywide communications, including the content of the City's website, social media, and public information materials, while promoting consistency in City branding.
Jennifer began her 25+ year public relations/marketing/graphic design career as a student at Rhodes College, in the public information/college relations/publishing department. She worked on everything from the alumni magazine to the annual catalogue. She also served as public relations coordinator for the campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity, as well as for Rhodes Student Government.
As editor of the Rhodes College yearbook, Jennifer won a national graphic design award from the Associated Collegiate Press (ACP). The competition, sponsored by Adobe software (Photoshop), judged her writing, graphic design, and photography skills.
She graduated from Rhodes College with a B.A. in political science, in 1996.
Prior to working in municipal government, Jennifer worked as PR/marketing director for a commercial real estate firm ($300+ million/year volume), including PR for their corporate office.
Honesty, integrity, and respect are the overarching principles that continue to guide her decision-making and communications with others.
She hopes to continue her service to Lakeland for years to come.
