Yes, permits are required for any new construction of homes, fences, pools, storage buildings, etc., including the replacement of existing fences. Please contact City Hall at 901-867-2717 for a complete list of permitting requirements.

2. Whom do I contact about a neighbor storing junk in his / her sideyard behind the fence?

Please contact Neighborhood Services at 901-867-2717. Lakeland has several property maintenance ordinances to protect the health and welfare of your community.

3. Where can I place my yard sale signs for this weekend?

Lakeland strictly prohibits off-premises signs. Yard sale signs are only permissible on the lot where the sale is being conducted and each lot is limited to one, five-square-foot sign. Please contact City Hall at 901-867-2717 for additional information.
