Lakeland’s residents enjoy access to a variety of local outdoor activities, making them a vital component of community life. The Parks and Recreation Department's mission is to enhance the quality of life for all Lakeland residents through the development of parks and recreational programs, while preserving natural resources through policies and education.
There are many different types of recreation available within the city limits, including:
- Indoor recreation
- Lakes and ponds
- Nature areas
- Pavilions and shelters
- Soccer fields and tennis courts
- Summer day camps (sports here, art & science here)
- Walking trails
for a calendar that includes Parks & Recreation events.
Whether you are interested in volunteering for Lakeland recreation programs, including at the Senior Center,
on a one-time, periodic, or weekly basis, volunteering is a way to have fun and help our community!
