Connie McCarter was sworn in to the Lakeland Board of Commissioners on December 1, 2022.
She has been a Lakeland resident for 32 years, currently residing in Stonebridge with her husband Jim of 26 years.
Connie is a member of Lakeland Chamber of Commerce, Lakeland Lion’s Club, and has a Tennessee Real Estate Affiliate Broker license.
Connie has held many county and state leadership positions.
Ms. McCarter accepted the role as liaison for the relatively new PULSE Comprehensive Plan Board which is instrumental in the ongoing vision plan for the City of Lakeland.
She has previously served on The Lakeland Board of Appeals/Stormwater Board of Appeals and The Lakeland Comprehensive Development Plan Advisory Committee.
She completed her Registered Nurse training at St. Joseph Hospital and completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Union University and a Master of Science in Nursing Education from The University of Memphis. She is certified in neuroscience and professional development. Connie is currently a Clinical Development Specialist/ Instructor to nurses and other healthcare providers with Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare, Clinical Education Services.
