Jim Atkinson was sworn into the Lakeland Board of Commissioners on December 10th, 2020. He was appointed to serve on the Municipal Planning Commission and Design Review Commission.
Atkinson has previously served as Lakeland's City Manager and previously as City Planner.
He holds a Masters Degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of Memphis, and a Graduate Certificate in Local Government Management...also from the University of Memphis.
He and his wife, Christen, have three sons.
