The Lakeland Athletic Complex opened with a ribbon cutting on May 17, 2022 culminating years of hard work by many Parks and Recreation Board Members, City of Lakeland Commissioners and City Staff. Originally purchased in 2004, this 100-acre property went through several iterations of planning, and in 2018, the Tennessee Department of Environmental Conservation awarded the city a grant in the amount of $500,000 to develop the first phase of the site. This phase of the complex includes two (2) flat fields and a parking lot. It is the home of many youth and adult programs including youth flag and tackle football, developmental baseball, and adult soccer and flag football programs. It has even played host to special events, including the 2022 summer entertainment series, fall harvest festival.

The next phase is currently in development and expected to include three diamond fields that will be convertible between softball and baseball for youth and adult programs, a concession/restroom building and more parking. To see the Master Plan for the Park, click HERE
